This is a truly amazing piece of functional art with a great story. Pictures do not do justice to this pine root coffee table. Fully encased in 2” of solid epoxy resin, this piece must be seen to be fully appreciated! The intricate details of the woven roots inside the resin are highlighted in a prism-like cube that creates a surreal underwater-like effect.

The Story |
In 2015, this pine tree was uprooted by a wind storm on the St John the Baptist property in Amherstburg ON (Canada) and FLO Hardwoods was contacted to salvage it. At the time, FLO was in very early stages of business and regrettably did not have the means or equipment to facilitate the salvage. In 2017 Steve Pomerleau spotted a root along a farm fence row/burn pile on Alma street in Amherstburg. After connecting with property owner Greg Mailloux of Mailloux’s Farm Fresh, it was discovered that it was the same uprooted pine tree from the church property. From there FLO was able to collect the root and store it while waiting for the right client to facilitate its second journey to a new life. Now the resurrection of this beautiful piece is complete and it will live on to be appreciated for generations to come.
